Antigone, daughter of Oedipus, is about to defy the ban of the King of Thebes. She intends to perform the funeral rites intended for her brother, the outcast Polynices. For this gesture, she risks death...

From Sophocles' classic, Laurent Hatat and Emma Gustafsson have created a new and powerful theatrical adaptation. Gone are the flourishes, the grandiloquence and the immaculate togas. Here comes a more direct text, transposed into our reality with its procession of discriminations. This Antigone resists and is still not a woman to fall into line. In our democracies whose disappearance we might fear, this show - whether aimed at young people or adults - questions our relationship with the law and asks the question: what makes us human?
