Homo faber
During a crossing to Europe, Walter Faber, an engineer in his fifties, falls in love with Elisabeth, a young girl whom he soon nicknames Sabeth, and whom he then decides to accompany on his journey to Greece where his mother lives. During a stopover in Avignon, their relationship comes to fruition at the same time, Faber discovers that Sabeth is the daughter of Hannah, his former fiancée, but he neglects the fact that she could in reality also be his own daughter. Once they arrive in Greece, events follow one another and a tragedy occurs... Homo Faber is one of the most famous novels by the Swiss writer Max Frisch and deals with some of the key themes that are dear to him: influence. of chance or destiny on our lives, the conflict between technology and nature, between reason and emotions, as well as the quest for identity. The Landestheater Detmold is a German multidisciplinary theater today considered the largest traveling troupe in Europe.
