The Human Voice - Opera & Dance
A young woman is alone in her room. She gets up, ready to leave, when the phone rings. It's her ex-lover. Over the next few minutes, we hear only one side of an increasingly desperate conversation in which the woman tries everything to win him back. But in vain - She can't convince him, He leaves her for someone else. He hangs up, and She stays there, whispering “I love you” into the void... This version of La Voix Humaine subtly combines the powerful text of Jean Cocteau and the evocative melodies of Francis Poulenc with dance and video in order to explore The depths of the human soul. On stage, a soprano, a dancer and a pianist exchange in an artistic synergy, offering a journey where all the elements interact and complement each other naturally. At the heart of This production is the character “Elle”, who takes us through the twists and turns of love, loss, manipulation, grief, loneliness and the innate need for human connection. Through her “female gaze,” we discover the raw emotions and vulnerabilities of a woman deeply affected by a complex relationship. The dance movements harmonize with the Voice and the music, creating a total experience. Thanks to this multiple approach, this creation transcends cultural and temporal boundaries, allowing everyone to identify and question themselves in the face of human dilemmas.
