Ladies Football Club - Theatre
How were women's football clubs born? Somewhere in England, during the First World War, when the men were sent to be killed in the War at that time, in an arms factory, eleven women workers started kicking a ball, which was none other than a prototype bomb that they manufactured under the orders of their bosses. What was the dismay of the men, the bosses, the priests, when they began to form a team and face others. Thanks to the absence of men, women's football clubs were born and public enthusiasm ensued. Each of the players found a place on the field, according to their particularities, and took charge of their destiny. Football saved these women, and during the war, during the absence of their husbands, they were protagonists of their lives. When men returned from the war, women's football clubs were banned until 1971. This text by Stefano Massini recounts a real conquest for women, by drawing the crossed destinies of women footballers, based on solidarity and emancipation to through The collective. Women had to take ownership of football, despite the poor reception given to their practice. It is therefore a story of insubordination that of women's football.
