The reason for the existence of the Place de l'Europe Orchestra could not be better summed up. Since its creation in 2022, this community of 110 non-professional musicians has been able to offer its audience great moments of emotion under the enthusiastic direction of Benjamin Schäfer, the sparkling percussionist of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, who willingly swaps his timpanist batons for those of a conductor. Between the stage and the friendly atmosphere of rehearsals, the orchestra continues to remain faithful to its mission of sharing while broadening its horizons.
Benjamin Schäfer has been the musical director of the Place de l'Europe Orchestra since the beginning! The percussionist of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra likes to swap his timpani sticks for a conductor's baton and loves working with non-professional musicians.
