Outside the walls | Attacking Kirchberg
Discover two centuries of fortifications.
An impressive system of fortifications all but disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867 defended not only Kirchberg but the fortress town altogether. The first military constructions on the Kirchberg heights date back to Louis XIV. His military engineer Vauban, who had directed the siege against Luxembourg in 1684, was afterwards to reinforce the city fortifications.
Feel free to embark on two-hour guided tours of these fortifications offered by the museum.
