A graduate of the Brussels School of Graphic Research, Alexandra Uppman (b. 1991) is a Swedish-speaking Finnish and Luxembourgish artist based in Luxembourg. The birthplace of her practice is the forest. Connecting her different countries of origin, she questions notions of belonging and home through our connection to forests and nature. These questions are intertwined and influenced by the culture of metal music. In her more recent work, she explores the aesthetics of old household objects and rural folklore. She works primarily in oil charcoal on paper as well as sculpture, and experiments with creating more atmospheric installations.
Viktoria Vanyi is a Hungarian visual artist who lives and works in Luxembourg. She studied industrial design at La Cambre in Brussels and is dedicated to creating artworks in the form of installations, paintings and photographs. Her work is constantly inspired by her folkloric upbringing and the stories she has been taught. Her childhood influences are reflected in her art, where she explores narrative and cultural themes through various media, creating works rich in symbolism and emotion.
