Simon Abkarian presents a modern interpretation of the ancient myth of the Atrides. In the underworld of Argos, women, including prostitutes, waitresses, and slaves, prepare for the festival of the dead. Electra, a fallen princess, plans to kill her mother Clytemnestra and stepfather Aegisthus, hoping for the return of her brother Orestes. The tragedy is told through words, music, dance, and song in this rock version. An heir to the great productions of the Théâtre du Soleil, Simon Abkarian aims to give a voice to the downtrodden, acting as spokesperson for a liberation movement.
