“The Good Guy?” is a new play that explores the impact of gender norms on young people growing up in the digital age. Online extremism, particularly extreme misogyny, has been normalized to the point that for many young adults and teens, it has become an invisible background noise. The result: a rise in online communities like “incels” (involuntarily celibate) and the popularity of figures like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson.

“The Good Guy?” examines the impact of this pervasive online rhetoric on young people through two characters: Katie and Dylan. Their stories unfold in a mix of sometimes comic, sometimes tragic scenes and monologues. As the play unfolds, their initially separate stories become increasingly intertwined, reaching a potentially explosive climax.

"The Good Guy?" is directed by Tony Kingston and stars Alessandro Stasi and Natacha Seventin in the lead roles.
