? We are pleased to announce that the feature film “Scarborn” by Polish director Paweł Maślona will open CinEast 2024 on 3/10 at 7:00 PM at Kinepolis!
This is clearly one of the biggest favorites of this edition - a perfect mix between Tarantino's "Django Unchained" and Radu Jude's "Aferim"!
The film is set in 1794. General Kościuszko, the Polish hero of the American Revolutionary War, returns home with his loyal friend, former slave Domingo, to start an uprising against the Russian invaders. They are hunted by a ruthless Russian cavalry captain, Dunin, who will do anything to prevent the insurrection.
Winner of several awards at the 2023 Gdynia Film Festival including the Golden Lion, it is an original tragicomedy in many ways!
Maślona balances violence, humor and suspense with masterful precision and makes a thunderous entrance onto the Polish and European cinema scene.
