This year, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are at the heart of the event celebrating contemporary authors from elsewhere. Come and listen to their words voiced by Luxembourgish, French, and Belgian actors and directors. A beautiful opening to the world.

Frits the Fisherman’s Son

It all starts with a classic German tongue twister, comparable to the archduchess's socks whose dryness is uncertain. Here, however, it's about the son of a professional fisherman named Fritz living deep in Bavaria, who strives to catch fresh fish but, due to a cerebral accident, can no longer fulfill his passion.

A Mountain, Many
Magdalena Schrefel (Austria)

A Mountain, Many echoes two stories, two eras, two landscapes, and two desires for elsewhere that intersect. On one side, there is an 18th-century British geographer whose story is told as a historical film, and on the other side, Pearl, the filmmaker in search of the truth of Africa. Where the Kong mountains were once imagined, she meets Ismaël, a young African dreaming of moving to Europe.

The Subtle Difference

A few days after her suicide, housemaid Jessica Jassem is found in her broom closet. A macabre discovery comes with a surprise: she had recreated in miniature the apartments she worked in. These models are entrusted to a curator who, in preparation for an exhibition, contacts the woman's former employers. It is discovered that Jessica meticulously crafted her models but also included an element differing from reality, something strange revealing the characters' flaws.

The House on Monkey Island

The house on Monkey Island is a smart house that tracks the intimate needs of its inhabitants. In the kitchen, a team of experts are guests of Animalsdelight and are supposed to achieve the impossible: the perfect commercialization of lab-grown meat. Unbeknownst to them, they themselves are part of the experiment.
