On Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12, come and take part in Handicap International's flagship event: the Solidarity Pyramid!
The Solidarity Pyramid is an event organized each year by Handicap International Luxembourg to mobilize to defend the lives of civilians against the use of explosive weapons in populated areas. The Solidarity Pyramid celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024.

This year, the Solidarity Pyramid will focus on the journeys of civilians affected by explosive weapons, so we will try to convey their experiences through testimonies, artistic performances and contributions from Handicap International professionals working in the field.

By participating in the event, you will discover the daily lives of civilians affected by explosive weapons in conflicts around the world. Follow our 45-minute immersive journey and retrace the path of a person supported by Handicap International in a conflict zone. In this way, you will be able to discover the actions carried out to support the most vulnerable in society.

This year, the Pyramid will take place over two days.

On Friday 11th, the guided tours (immersive tour) will be
reserved for school groups and businesses.
Registration is done online: https://forms.gle/5U6UiCe6nK1sv45N9

Program :

Friday October 11:
10am: Opening of the event
5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m.: Dance performances

Saturday October 12:
11am, 2pm, 4pm: Dance performances
Inspired by the testimonies of beneficiaries on the ground affected by explosive weapons, a collective of 5 Luxembourgish dancers will create a performance that will be performed several times during the Pyramid.

Two experts from Handicap International will be present in Luxembourg on this occasion:
Coming from the field, Simon Elmont, a mine clearance specialist who visited Gaza, will give an account to the public and Luxembourg decision-makers of the devastation caused by the use of explosive weapons in populated areas.

Nujeen Mustafa, a Syrian-born disability and refugee rights advocate, will share her journey and message.

Four stands will be offered this year:
-Emergency action: Discover the resources mobilized by Handicap International during conflicts and find out about the situation in the countries most affected by the use of explosive weapons in the world.
-Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation gives people back their independence. Discover how we make prosthetics using 3D printers. Test the prosthetics to put yourself in the shoes of disabled people and understand their daily lives.
-Demining: Demining is essential to rehabilitate living spaces and prevent accidents after the end of the conflict. Talk to Simon Elmont, deminer for Handicap International.
-School and socio-professional inclusion: Equitable access to education and the world of work is a central issue for Handicap International. Discover our actions to strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities and learn the basics of sign language.
