Julie and the Apricot Boy - Young Public Theatre
Julie is a little girl with a great passion for a very particular fruit: sweet, juicy and velvety apricots. In the forest, not far from her home, so it is said, stands a very special apricot tree, the largest of its kind, with the best and most beautiful fruits that any human has ever seen.
However, his father strictly forbade Julie from going into this forest, because, as the villagers have said for centuries, death lurks there.
But because Julie is used to getting what she wants, and because her immense lust leaves her no other choice, she sneaks out one night to taste this unique delicacy. And indeed, hidden deep in the forest, Julie finds a huge tree, with apricots as big as melons. So, she says, she was right, as always. And she has not yet fully thought this thought through when suddenly there is a rustling in the bushes and a wonderful little creature appears, far surpassing Julie's imagination...
Based on his short story The Little Girl That Knew Better, (Les Cahiers Luxembourgeois Numéro 3, 2020), Cosimo Suglia, who was awarded the Chrysalis Award for Luxembourg in 2021, a prize for emerging writers in speculative fiction, is developing a play for children aged 6 and up, together with Daliah Kentges.
