DakhaBrakha is a world-music quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine, known for their unique "ethnic chaos" sound. Founded in 2004 by avant-garde theatre director Vladyslav Troitskyi at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art "DAKH," their performances blend Ukrainian folk music with global rhythms and theatrical effects.

The band’s name means "give/take" in old Ukrainian. They aim to reveal the potential of Ukrainian melodies and appeal to both Ukrainian and international audiences. Using traditional instruments from various countries, their powerful vocals create a trans-national sound rooted in Ukrainian culture.

DakhaBrakha has performed at numerous international festivals and collaborated with various artists globally. They won the prestigious Grand Prix prize in contemporary art in 2010 and were recognized at the Australian Womadelaide festival in 2011. In 2020, they were finalists for the Shevchenko National Prize in "Musical Arts" and released their fourth album, "Alambari," recorded in Brazil.
