Luxembourg's geological diversity is the origin of an ancient and varied extractive activity. The quarries have locally shaped the landscape, the extracted materials have left their mark on the face of the towns and villages, but also on the country's economy.
This conference presents the relationships between the geology of the subsoil and the different materials which were extracted from it, or which are still extracted today, as well as the particular technical aspects of the extractive activity.
