The Residence of the French Embassy
As part of the 70th anniversary of the Luxembourg-France cultural convention, the current residence of the French Embassy was built in 1880/81 by the French architect Oscar Bélanger on behalf of the notary Léon Majerus, co-founder of the "Grand Théâtre" of the City of Luxembourg, 155 years ago. In 1920, the engineer Paul Wurth established his offices there for the sale of cast iron, iron, rivets, metals, and industrial items. Since 1930, the magnificent hotel has housed the residence of the French Embassy.
