The collaboration of Ravel with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes led to the creation in 1912 of Daphnis and Chloe, for which concert pianist Claire-Marie Le Guay has recorded the original piano version. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Ravel's birth, she joins dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier to present a rendition of this iconic masterpiece highlighting the purity and musical and dramatic essence of this piece with a keyboard and a pair of dancers.
"No sound but the murmur of streams gathered by the dew that flows from the rocks. Daphnis remains lying in front of the nymphs' cave. Gradually, the day breaks." Claire-Marie Le Guay is a concert pianist and international soloist, laureate of numerous international competitions and the Victoires de la Musique. She has performed with top conductors and recorded more than twenty albums, with a broad repertoire ranging from Bach to contemporary music.
Independent choreographer, Constant Vigier, participated in the Tell Tale Steps dance lab organized by the Northern Ballet in Leeds, and has created works for the IMAGES company of the London Studio Center. A former student of the Paris Opera Ballet School, he leads choreographic workshops for this prestigious institution.
