From the topographical location to the building material, stone as a primary resource shapes the fortress of Luxembourg. As fortification forms progress, aspects of military use as well as unique aesthetics and habits develop in everyday life, which accumulate in the local cultural memory.
Speaker: Dr. Ralph Lange
Ralph Lange, historian and art historian, holds a PhD in ancient history and is a scientific collaborator at the Centre de documentation sur la Forteresse at the National Museum of Archaeology, History, and Art (MNAHA).
