Equilibrium synthesizes jazz, folk/world, classical, minimalism, and avant-garde in a blend of free improvisation and original composition. The Iranian artist Mona Matbou Riahi joins the group for the first time on clarinet to present their new album Lento. Guitarist Mikkel Ploug and Mona met in Luxembourg during the Reset festival at neimënster. Norwegian singer Sissel Vera Pettersen has worked with artists such as Chick Corea and Marylin Mazur. Sissel is also the artistic director of the Trondheim Voices festival (Norway). Danish guitarist Mikkel Ploug, known for his work with saxophonist Mark Turner and award-winning composer Bent Sørensen, composes and plays guitar. Mikkel won the "Best Jazz Album of 2020" award by Morningstar UK for his latest solo album and has been praised by Downbeat and Jazztimes.
