The young cellist Raphaël Jouan, Classical Revelation of Adami, is characterized by his eclecticism and curiosity. He devotes himself with equal joy and passion to the exploration of chamber music, great concertos, and improvised music. He can be found on major stages and festivals as well as in intimate settings and atypical places.

Raphaël has the opportunity to play in prestigious venues (Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Arsenal de Metz, Wigmore Hall, etc.), on the airwaves of France Musique and Radio Classique, and as part of numerous festivals in France and internationally (Folles Journées de Nantes, Warsaw, Tokyo, Le Festival des Arcs, la Roque d'Anthéron, Rencontres Musicales d'Évian, the Pablo Casals Festival, etc.). He is also very involved in the Hors Saison Musicale association, which brings music to rural areas.

In 2023, he made his debut at the Philharmonie de Paris as a soloist with the Paris Mozart Orchestra (dir. Claire Gibault), captured live by Arte Concert. His regular partners include accordionist Bruno Maurice, cellist Thibaut Reznicek, and pianist Flore Merlin, with whom he released his critically acclaimed first album "Sérénade" in 2021.

Passionate about chamber music, a fundamental activity in his musical life, he founded the Trio Hélios in 2014 (with Alexis Gournel on piano and Eva Zavaro on violin), trained at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris and at the ECMA - European Chamber Music Academy. The trio has won numerous competitions and has recorded two albums for the Mirare label.

Very attracted by improvised music, Raphaël has worked with some of the greatest jazz cellists and world music artists. During the 24-25 season, he begins his residency at the Cité Musicale and records his next album as a soloist for La Dolce Volta, alongside the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est under the direction of David Reiland.
