From the beginning of the exhibition, at the entrance to the large hall, the public is presented with the new exhibition, which is made up of printed texts, documents and objects in display cases, mechanical devices, recordings, films, projections, infographics and interactive screens. This mix of media allows all audiences to get their money's worth.
To complement this and to give a voice to those who experienced this difficult time, the individual panels of the historical exhibition are accompanied by audio testimonies. These can be accessed via QR codes using your own smartphone.
Although the exhibition essentially follows a thematic approach, the two timelines on the ground floor and first floor allow the interested visitor to delve into the details of history.
In order to give faces to history, visitors can get to know the men and women who were directly involved in short biographies. This is also the approach of the biographical niches in the large hall, which can be discovered before or after visiting the actual historical exhibition. In 11 niches, 28 historical figures and 16 inhabitants of present-day Luxembourg tell of their lives as victims, as civilians or as actors.
