An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867, defended Kirchberg and protected the fortress city. The engineer Vauban, who directed the siege work in 1684, was given the task of developing a project for reinforcing the fortress. The museum offers two-hour guided tours of these fortifications.

IMPORTANT: Participants must be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and a flashlight.
