What if we relearned to talk about death to better celebrate life?
In a warm setting, the Immortal Infusions offer a space for discussion to address death, mourning and the end of life over a herbal tea.
During these events, we share our experiences, feelings, rituals and everything related to death and mourning without judgment, while enjoying a hot drink. These moments are neither debates nor therapeutic sessions, but human discussions that free a speech that has become taboo in our society.
Meeting three inspiring artists
These Immortal Infusions also provide an opportunity to meet Nina Lombardo, the originator of the concept, as well as Jasmina Douieb and Florence Minder, who have each explored, in their own way, the themes of death and mourning in their works. Getting to know them invites benevolent exchanges around this universal subject and, perhaps, to consider death in a new light.
Good to know
After a moment of welcome and meeting, each participant is invited, in turn, to speak or to resonate a silence, and to add infusion herbs to a cauldron. At the end, the herbs, stories and memories of each will have intertwined to form a collective immortal infusion. Those who wish will also be invited to write a word or a letter to their deceased on seeded paper. These writings can be placed in the mailbox of the post-mortem cabin – an installation associated with the Post Mortem show – before being buried and flowering in the earth.
Additionally, on January 18, participants will have the opportunity to bring a dish or preparation related to the missing person(s). This could be a dish that they prepared, liked to eat or liked to share, for example.
