The Battle of the Ardennes is the last major German offensive of the Second World War. It begins on December 16, 1944, when German troops attack the Allies in the Luxembourg and Belgian Ardennes. It was intended to be a short and quick attack but ultimately lasted several months. Despite initial successes, the attack fails and hastens the end of the war in Europe.
