3rd Study Day organized by the association "Mission Étudiante Catholique de Metz" in partnership with the history and theology departments of the University of Lorraine in Metz. Theme of the day: "Inspiring a soul in Europe" For Robert Schuman, one of the founding fathers of Europe, Christianity is the unifying element for all European peoples. Without it, Europe, as Schuman envisions, cannot be established. In this sense, we wish to explore through history the impact of Christianity on Europe. Questions addressed throughout the day: Democracy in Europe: a Christian heritage? Is there a specifically Christian democracy? Has Christianity contributed to shaping a democratic form? Can there be democracy without God? Does Christianity still have something to offer when Europe is experiencing a democratic crisis?
Where does it take place?
