Writing and Reading Workshop with Elona Beqiraj
“Where do you go when they say ‘go back’?” – this is the question that begins one of Elona Beqiraj’s poems. In her works, the Kosovar-Albanian poet tirelessly explores the question of our origins – individually, collectively, as children of the diaspora. As children of a generation that had to migrate or flee war and persecution. Our parents, driven by the burning desire for a better future for their children – and we, the children, driven by the nostalgia for our parents’ homeland.
On February 13, 2025, Elona invites us to talk about belonging, about worlds that separate us, and about this quest for self – to build tables, to bring chairs together, so that proximity does not remain just a word.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. for the writing workshop, then at 8 p.m. for the reading, which will be followed by a discussion.
