Figlia di re - A Marriage for Italy - Patrizia Debicke
Figlia di Re - A Marriage for Italy.
A novel by the author that stages the marriage arranged for political reasons by Cavour, of a princess: Maria Clotilde of Savoy, to tell the Franco-Italian history from July 1858 to January 1861 and the political and epochal changes for France, the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Italian peninsula, Europe, Africa, and America (with the Northerners and Southerners engaged in the Civil War).
A marriage that pushed the husband, the French prince Napoleon Joseph (cousin of the French emperor Napoleon III), already attentive to the Italian cause and a friend of patriots, to offer public support to the Savoy for the unification of Italy.
