Cold-wave that doesn't pull a face, shoegaze that looks at something other than its pumps, dream pop that comes out of its lethargy... Contradictions abound when it comes to Turquoise, a French-speaking Belgian band that looks to the 80s without falling into caricature or meaningless pastiche. With its enigmatic lyrics and evanescent melodies, Turquoise's music is more reminiscent of Taxi Girl or Depeche Mode than Indochine, with a concern for production that we found in Rita Mitsouko. After a first EP released in 2019, the group has just unveiled "avant demain", a feverish album with a scent of dreamlike apocalypse.
