BBC6 darlings Dog Race caught the eye with a string of singles reminiscent of the English New Romantics of the 80s, mixing the bubblegum hiccups of their singer with almost gothic synths. In this, they are in the tradition of artists who are difficult to classify like Sparks or XTC, preferring to warm up the sometimes cold sound of English post-punk with a theatrical touch; between the romanticism of the Cure and the dream pop of Cocteau Twins or Chameleons, therefore, but with a touch of Kate Bush that makes their music absolutely unique.
