The origins of the Saint-Martin chapel date back to the end of the 10th century. It mainly served as a leper colony in the 16th century, during which the Free Brotherhood of the Siechenhof was founded in 1514 and served until the French Revolution. This necropolis is rich in historical facts. It served as a burial place for the civil hospice, the tradition of the "Fliederchersdag" is closely linked to the site; the cemetery of the chapel houses tombstones of the sisters of the Congregation of Saint Elisabeth. Several monuments are protected including that of the "Souvenir français", the best known being the tombs of the musician Laurent Méanger and the Communards who died in Luxembourg.
