Funk, soul, dance from SenegalThe epic tale of Orchestra Baobab began in the heart of the medina of Dakar at the end of the 1960s, in a nightclub built around a baobab tree, where the group developed a variety of styles that reflected the cultural mix and the strong musical personalities of its founding members. Today, with the support of new members, Orchestra Baobab is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is proud to present its new songs, all new and all carrying the faithful, universal, humanist message and pacifist. The band entered the 21st century with new international fame and continues to tour, bringing audiences young and old to dance at festivals and concert halls around the world. Alive and vibrant, let's celebrate together the fiftieth anniversary of the Baobab Orchestra.
