"Chance, my faithful companion, who knows all the abbreviations and inversions better than any GPS, took me, during a spring stroll, to a less business-oriented neighborhood; a dreamy, almost village-like neighborhood, in this city where I found myself by chance.
Chance, always it, forced me to go around a damaged tram. And I found myself in a square where tall trees hid a recent and elegant building, lying like a wild animal, sure of itself, without fear.
The building was labeled THEATRE. In my 40 years as a traveling musician, I have learned that theaters are great places to perform that thrilling and frightening act of getting on stage in front of an audience.
I know that it has a heavy red curtain that drowns out the noise of the outside world and its endless news; that there is an audience that has carefully prepared for this meeting and brings the most precious of goods: its attention!
I have long yearned to spend more time than just one evening at a concert; to spend time working with the crew of one of these great ships firmly anchored, in the heart of one of these marvelous machines, these dream ships.
