First Prize 2021 in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Jonathan Fournel is spreading the wings of an already internationally recognized career. This native of Sarrebourg developed a taste for eclectic repertoires as evidenced by this program covering two centuries of music, from baroque to modernity. A multi-faceted keyboard art emerges, with the delicious Italian Concerto by Bach (1735), the dazzling Sonata in B minor by Liszt (1853), the autumnal romanticism of the Intermezzi op. 117 by Brahms (1892) and the rare Variations on a Polish Theme, an early work by Szymanowski (1904).
