In 1706, the young Handel began his “Grand Tour”, this trip to Italy that every cultured European must make to the sources of ancient art. He triumphed in Rome with great psalms where his knowledge of the orchestra was colored with Latin influences. The Vox Luminis ensemble will be the cantor of this solar Handel, with the concertante motet Nisi Dominus, the cantata-like Dixit Dominus, the Laudate Puerie and its virtuoso castrato part taken on by soprano Perrine Devillers. In addition to these vocal works, the Concerto op. 4 will be performed by harpsichordist Anthony Romaniuk.
