Love considered as a mystical experience, questioning the boundary between the divine and the human: such is the experience to which the program Cantano gli angeli (“The angels sing”) invites us, which redefines the idea of sacred music. Because the ars nova of the 14th century offered him an incredible refinement of melodic, rhythmic and polyphonic writing. The Sollazzo Ensemble is at its best here: under the artistic direction of Anna Danilevskaia, it has gained international recognition for its sensitive mastery of ancient music, from the late Middle Ages to the early Renaissance.
