After 17 albums and two prestigious Grammy nominations in Los Angeles, Ibrahim Maalouf is back in a big way with an innovative musical project.
Both in philosophy and history, TOMA, acronym for Trumpets of Michel Ange, is a great musical adventure that transports us to a world where folklore and modernity are one.
As usual, Ibrahim takes the challenge of demanding music that is accessible to the general public.
“TOMA” is first of all a mixed album, a true mix of influences where the festive and nostalgic Orient is expressed with rare freedom.
“TOMA” is then the name of a brand of trumpets created by Ibrahim in collaboration with French manufacturers. It is this unique instrument in the world, invented more than half a century ago by his father, that Ibrahim plays on stage, and on which he now trains the new generation of trumpeters.
“TOMA”, finally, is a big party that brings together all generations, amateurs and professionals, and guests!
With TOMA, Ibrahim lays the first stone of an ambitious life project combining violin making, French cultural exception, pedagogy, album, stage and which above all aims to bring us together around common values.
