A painter since 1973, Claude Lhuillier has over fifty major exhibitions to his credit (Paris, Nancy, Metz, Brussels, Luxembourg, Tel-Aviv, etc.). The one that will be held at the Château de Courcelles from September 7 to 22 has a symbolic value for him. It tells, in 80 paintings, "the evolution and maturation of [his] style in an introspective process."

"Each painting marks, through subtle nuances, a stage in my life's journey as a painter. Similar and yet unique in their expression - through their color, their shape, their clarity... -, they all reflect my inner changes and varied influences." Creative freedom "Metamorphoses" thus illustrates the transformation of a style, which, like life, continually evolves, and the emotional and philosophical journey of the artist.

The theme of transformation is also underpinned by the techniques used: the transfer of images. Claude Lhuillier transfers photocopies of his drawings onto painted canvases to "give transparencies, superpositions". "Other paintings are pictomorphoses, a word I invented for the repainted photos of my paintings... I can create all the variations I want, hence this idea of metamorphoses."

The artist invites you to dive into this process of transformation, to feel the rhythm of changes and to let yourself be inspired by his journey.
