Discover the Archaeological Museum this summer
Installed in an old deconsecrated Protestant temple, the Archaeological Museum of Audun-le-Tiche presents the collections of the Pays-Haut Mosellan.
You will discover the most beautiful pieces from the excavations of the Merovingian necropolis of Audun-le-Tiche (classified as Historic Monuments), but also a remarkable collection of Gallo-Roman statues also listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments (heads of Minerva and Sirona, Jupiter Cavalier with anguiped, Apollo...).
Finally, you will be able to admire a unique piece with strong symbolism: the Latin cross pattée, listed as a Historic Monument.
With an exhibition of more than 300m² divided into 6 rooms including a projection, you will travel through the eras of the Paleolithic to the witchcraft trials of the 16th century or the founding of the famous Boch earthenware factory in Audun-le-Tiche in 1748.
Finally, on the top floor, our temporary exhibition "the people from here": 30 years of photo reports from the Lorraine Republican in the Mosellan high country by Jean-Marie Milesi.
