Metalcore/screamo Stick to Your Guns formed in 2003 under the leadership of vocalist Jesse Barnett in Orange County, California. Compared to bands like Comeback Kid and Protest the Hero, the band was quickly noticed by Ash Avildsen of Sumerian Records, who put them on a live showcase. The band signed to the label shortly after. Their debut album, For What It's Worth, was released in 2007, during which time Stick to Your Guns spent time on the road, solidifying their skills and building on their early success. The band then moved to indie metal label Century Media, who released their sophomore album Comes from the Heart in the spring of 2008. Lineup changes and a return to Sumerian Records preceded the release of the band's third studio album, Hope Division, in 2010 to critical acclaim, and in 2012 the band released the searing Diamond, which included the Occupy Wall Street support single "Bringing You Down (A New World Overthrow)". In 2015, the John Feldmann-produced album Disobedient was their final release for Sumerian. 2016 saw the band sign with Pure Noise for the Better Ash Than Dust EP. The following year the band released their sixth album, True View.
