From Alienation to Empathy - Conference
In the 1970s, some prominent art movements in the United States and Europe criticized the alienation and dehumanization caused by mass media and consumer society. By the end of the 20th century, some artists and theorists distanced themselves from these iconoclastic currents and began to create works that were more focused on empathy and sharing.
