During two five-day sessions, the CNA ScriptLab & Screenwriting/ScreenTelling workshop explores scriptwriting for fiction, documentary, and series. This program combines theory and practice to lay the foundations of scriptwriting, analyze dramatic choices, and study their impact on narration.
We will select up to 5 projects in development (at the treatment or sequencing stage) with their authors, as well as 8 participants without a project, who will participate as active observers. Guided by Miguel Machalski, we will assess the strengths and weaknesses of the projects without formally developing them. The goal is to put into practice the theoretical concepts studied.
The workshop includes analysis of script and film excerpts, and in the second session, authors can present revised versions of their projects and fully scripted sequences to deepen the transition to dialogue continuity. This training is aimed at Luxembourgish authors and directors or residents in Luxembourg, with or without a writing project.
Miguel Machalski, born in Buenos Aires, has a multicultural and multilingual profile. With nearly 30 years of experience, he has written or co-written over 22 film scripts and conducts workshops in four languages. He is part of the tutoring team at the Torino Feature Lab and collaborates regularly with Creative Media Desks. He has written three books on audiovisual writing.
