Regular Guided Tour: A Walk Through Art
Every Friday you can take part in the free guided tour of the permanent exhibition “A Walk through Art. European Drawings and Sculptures, 17th - 19th Centuries”
The permanent exhibition at the Villa Vauban takes the visitor on a journey through three centuries of artistic creation: from the Dutch 17th century through the dream locations of Italy to French painting around the middle of the 19th century. In addition to the styles and periods with many masterpieces, the exhibition allows you to discover the small formats and miniatures as well as a spectacular room dedicated to the acquisitions of Pescatore, donor and benefactor of the City, during the auction of the works in the possession of King William II of the Netherlands in 1850.
This wide variety of subjects and artistic styles is captured in an immersive video projection at the very beginning of the tour, which puts visitors in the mood for the works they will discover during their walk through art.
