An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867, defended the Kirchberg and protected the fortress city. Engineer Vauban, who led the siege works in 1684, was tasked with drafting a project for strengthening the fortress. The museum offers two-hour guided tours of these fortifications.

IMPORTANT: Participants must be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and a flashlight.
