Born in 1861 in La Lobe/Arry, Edmond Louyot, a painter, experienced the emblematic fate of a generation marked by historical political and territorial circumstances, becoming by default a cross-border artist between France and Germany, a context that marked his artistic career. He exhibited many times during his lifetime until 1919, before falling into oblivion after his death in La Lobe/Arry in 1920. Many of his works bear witness to his attachment to his roots and territory, where landscapes and people are a major source of inspiration. The exhibition aims to explore the artist's work through a scenographic scheme aiming to contextualize his work in this attachment, his roots, and the topographical uniqueness of the southern Metz region.
