The Cities Connection Project (CCP) is an initiative that fosters exchanges between architects from different cities or regions. For its seventh edition, themed "Architectures in Transition, Recycling of Built Heritage and Social Responsibility," CCP brings together high-quality architectural and urban projects from the metropolitan area of Barcelona, Wallonie-Bruxelles, Luxembourg, and the Grand-Est region. These projects set the foundation for a shift towards a more ethical building culture, where environmental and societal impacts are controlled. Through choosing rehabilitation over demolition, using sustainable and environmentally friendly construction systems, and reusing construction materials, architects are becoming aware of their fundamental role as socially responsible actors. The architectural culture has been transitioning towards more responsible and environmentally friendly practices for several years now. This vital transition will be long and full of challenges, but it is irreversible. The projects showcased in the exhibition have been selected by the curatorial team, which includes the two co-directors of the Cities Connection Project, Xavier Bustos and Nicola Regusci, as well as Nathalie Brison, director of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Architectures promotional agency, César Reyes Nájera, postdoctoral researcher at the Master in Architecture at Uni.lu, and Maribel Casas, director of LUCA. The Luxembourgish participation is supported by the OAI – Ordre des Architectes et des Ingénieurs-Conseils, and Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg.
