80 years ago, Thionville was liberated! As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Symphonic honors the repertoire of our liberators with a poignant and powerful program evocative of American culture and World War II: Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland, composed in 1942, has become the unofficial anthem of the United States. It embodies the courage, unity, and resilience of the nation while celebrating the collective strength of the people. The world-famous theme from Schindler's List composed by John Williams pays tribute to humanity and the tragedy of the Holocaust. Highlighting the event: Dvorák's famous Symphony of the New World transposes into music a sense of hope, discovery, and fascination for this young nation. A vibrant and jubilant commemoration not to be missed.
