A humorous and emotional tribute to Elvis... and friendship!
There are four of them, four guys in blue sneakers, instead of Blue Suede Shoes. Four Elvis fans who, every August 16th, the day of their idol's death, gather to celebrate him. For one night, Jean-Damien, Joël, Pascal, and Mathurin pretend to be the King, because maybe life would be much better in a sequined suit. However, this August 16th will be different... Tribute to Elvis or his fans, parodying impersonators like in Podium? Not really. With this project, Héloïse Ravet wanted to poetically discuss the difficulty of being oneself. To feel they exist, her fragile-souled antiheroes try to inhabit another skin, another voice, to see if it helps. And it is ultimately this shared fiction that will bring them courage and hope... A tender tale about friendship, shared passions, and the warmth of these communities we build to navigate existence.
