"I am moving ever further from my familiar existence into some distant, foreign world." It is carnival time, and in just 36 hours, the seemingly harmonious marriage of Fridolin and Albertine is turned upside down and put to the test. The practical doctor Fridolin loses himself intoxicatingly in the Viennese night, between patients and prostitutes, finally landing at a clandestine masked ball. Albertine, who has to look after the child at home, can only experience such adventures in her dreams and thoughts - but these are intense. Their relationship is shaken by suddenly emerging yearnings and desires that they had denied themselves and kept secret from each other. In this new stage adaptation, director Frank Hoffmann, with an enthusiastic ensemble, will delve deep into Schnitzler's shadowy world.
