Sake is a traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage made from rice. It is specifically a rice alcohol with an alcohol content ranging from 14 to 18%, produced by fermentation like beer. It is therefore very different from distilled rice or sorghum alcohol flavored with rose, mistakenly called "sake", served at the end of meals in Chinese restaurants. This tasting is a complete introduction to the world of Sake. All aspects of this alcohol will be discussed, from its origins to its ingredients, including production methods, accompanied by a tasting of several sakes and a pairing with different Japanese dishes. This tasting will be an opportunity to discover sakes of different styles and from various regions.
