The National Museum um Fëschmaart and the art centers Nei Liicht and Dominque Lang in Dudelange are paying a posthumous tribute to the artist Marc Henri Reckinger (1940-2023), the laureate of the Lëtzebuerger Konschtpräis 2024, a biennial award for visual arts presented by the Ministry of Culture. Reckinger is considered a pioneer on the Luxembourg art scene. Driven by a libertarian spirit and a nonconformist breath, he was among the first to explore unconventional forms of expression in Luxembourg such as pop art, hard edge, and conceptual art at the end of the 1960s. His works loudly rebel against social injustices, capitalism, and the establishment. The exhibition features a selection of emblematic works of the fierce commitment that animated Marc Henri Reckinger, ranging from national issues to international cultural policy.
